There are several available options to add expiration dates to your item labels.

You can add expiration dates to your item labels from inside a working shipment as you prep, or while printing item labels from the inventory page. We'll explore both options below.

Important!: Adding expiration dates to your item labels is NOT the same thing as adding expiration dates to your boxes and box content. Having them on your item labels is not enough because that is not what Amazon looks at.

When receiving your shipment, Amazon scans the 2D barcode on the box, and that is how they know the dates and contents of your shipment. You need to make sure you are adding the dates to your actual boxes and not just onto your item labels.

This article deals with simply adding a printed date to your item labels. For more information on properly adding expiration dates to your box content, click here

I. From Inside a Working Shipment

1. Navigate to the Working Shipments tab, and identify the shipment you're working with.

2. Click the icon on the left-hand side of the screen located next to the Shipment ID to open up the Shipment’s Workflow.

3. Once inside the Shipment Workflow, you will see all of the items that need to be prepped, packed, and shipped for this shipment.

Important!: Adding expiration dates on your item labels is not the same as providing an expiration date for items you're shipping to Amazon. To properly share the expiration date with Amazon, add the expiration date to the box content when creating boxes inside of a shipment.

To carry over your item label expiration dates, click the Next button after printing your item labels and confirm the expiration date shows under the corresponding field. This will ensure that your 2D Barcode contains the expiration date after you print your box labels. You'll also see the expiration date under the Box Content Menu.

II. From the Inventory Page

Tip!: If using a handheld scanner, simply scan the manufacturer’s UPC barcode of any product in your inventory to bring up that item.

3. Once you’ve found the item, click the Printer icon on the left-hand side of the item.
