There are two types of pallet shipments, 'Individual Item Splits' and 'Case-Packed Splits'. The difference is how Amazon will split your inventory in the event that your shipping plan consists of multiple shipments.

  • Individual Item Splits: Amazon splits by units. Enter your SKUs and quantities to create working shipments. If there are splits, Amazon will split your items by individual units. Once your working shipment is created, prep and pack your boxes any way you want.

  • Case-Packed Splits: Amazon splits by cases. Enter your SKUs, quantities, and case configurations. If there are splits, Amazon will split your items based on your case configurationsnot individual units—which is ideal if you want to keep cases intact when shipping. Once your working shipment is created, prep and pack your boxes as configured.

For 'case-packed' pallet shipments:

  1. From the 'FBA Inventory' tab, select the items to ship and click 'Create Draft Shipment'.

Tip!: You can also create draft shipments by file upload by clicking the purple 'Upload' button located next to the Create Draft button. To learn more about creating shipments by file upload, check out the full article here.

  2. Inside the Draft Shipment, select 'LTL/FTL Case-Packed' as your Workflow.

Tip!: In a draft shipment, you can:

    • Change an item's quantity by clicking on the 'Units' column
    • Delete items by clicking on the red X
    • Add new items in to your draft by clicking the '+ Add Items' button

  3. Once you have items in your draft, the next step is to provide case-pack information to tell Amazon how your items are packed.

There's 3 ways to make case configurations in 2D Workflow:

    • Single-SKU Boxes: Scan or select an item from your list and click the 'Printer' icon.

In the pop-up window, press 'Next'.

Enter your case configurations and press 'Create Box Content'.

Note: For LTL/FTL shipments, you do not need to print the optional 2DWF labels at this point.

    • Multi-SKU Boxes: To pack different items in the same box, click the 'Multi-SKU box' button.

In the pop-up window, select which items to add by pressing the 'Search 🔍' button, and entering items and quantities.

Then, click the 'Create Box Content' button to confirm your Multi-SKU box.

Note: For LTL/FTL shipments, you do not need to print the optional 2DWF labels at this point.

    • Saved Packing Templates: You can also save frequently used case configurations to quickly add them to future shipments without having to re-enter box details.

To create a packing template, click the 'Create New Box/Case template' option in the item dropdown menu.

Next, give your template a 'Template Name', enter your 'Box Configurations', and then press 'Save'

After saving a packing template, you can use it to add cases to your shipment by selecting the template from the item dropdown menu, and then entering the number of boxes you want to send into the 'Boxes' column.

  4. After entering case-pack details for all items, click 'Plan Shipping' to view the available shipping options. Compare them, choose the best one, and then click 'Create Shipment' to create your working shipment.

Tip!: To qualify for the 'Amazon Optimized Splits' shipping option, pack each SKU from your draft into at least five or more identical boxes.*

*The 'Amazon Optimized Splits' inbound shipping option is only available in the US marketplace.

  5. Once you've created a working shipment, you'll find it on the 'Working FBA Shipments' page. You can open it by clicking on the icon located next to the FBA ID #.

The next step is to prep and pack your products while using the software to generate your item and box labels.

  6. From inside a working shipment, you'll see all of the items that need to be prepped, packed and shipped. To begin working on an item, simply select one of the SKUs from the list and press the 'printer 🖨' icon.

  7. In the pop-up window, the software shows you how many units to ship, how to prep them, and how to pack them, based on your case configurations.

If FNSKU labels are needed, click 'Print Item Labels', then label and pack your products according to your case configurations.

When done, click 'Print Box Labels' to create your box labels and attach them to your boxes.

  8. After printing your box labels, you are returned to the main shipment workflow. Here, you can see that the item you just packed has turned green and dropped to the bottom of the list. This means that all units for that SKU in your shipment are now packed.

  9. You can see all of the boxes needed for your shipment in the Box Content Menu located on the right-hand side of the screen. You'll notice that every time you complete a box and print its label, the box icon closes and the printer icon turns green. This indicates the box label for that box has already been printed.

  10. The next step in the process is to keep prepping and packing your items until all are packed, all box labels printed, every SKU turns green, and the Progress Bar reaches 100%.

Tip!: For your convenience, 2DWF offers multiple ways to print box labels, allowing you to tailor the process to your preferences. Beyond the main workflow of going SKU-by-SKU as described above, you can also:

    • Print ALL box labels for your entire shipment by pressing the 'Print Box Labels' button at the top of the Box Content Menu.

    • Print ALL box labels for your entire shipment by pressing the 'Print All Labels' button on the Working Shipments Page.

    • Print labels from the Box Content Menu by pressing the 'Printer Icon'. This prints the label for that box.

    • Print labels from the Box Content Menu by pressing the 'Box Icon'. This opens a pop-up showing you the contents of that box, and lets you print it's label.

  11. Once all items are packed and all box labels printed, press the 'Complete Shipment' button on the Working Shipments page.

  12. In the pop-up window, enter the contact information, select partnered or non-partnered carrier, enter your pallet information, and then press 'Add Pallets'

    Next, click 'Show Shipping Options'

  13. In the 'Transport Options' section, select the 'Carrier' that you'll be using to ship to Amazon.

If you are using an Amazon Partnered Carrier, you can browse the different shipping options and compare their prices.

When ready, press the purple 'Complete Shipment' button to complete your shipment.

  14. Your pallet shipment is now 100% complete. On the Working Shipments page, you'll notice a green checkmark ✔ indicating that your shipment is done and ready to ship.

You can print pallet labels on the Shipment Confirmation page after completing your shipment, or at any time from your working shipment by clicking 'Print Pallet Labels'.

Important: For Non-Partnered Carrier shipments, you must complete one additional step by uploading your Tracking/Pro number to complete your shipment.

You can add your tracking number in the Shipment Confirmation window at any time by clicking 'Review Completed Shipment', entering the number, and clicking 'Submit Pro Number'

Important: For Non-Partnered Carrier shipments, fully complete your shipment in 2DWF before scheduling freight pick-up. Scheduling pick-up early may change your shipment status to In Transit, preventing completion. Amazon requires all shipments be fully completed before shipping, and only Working status shipments can be finalized.
